Real Madrid‘s preparations for the upcoming season continued with an open training session in Montreal on Thursday, and Raphael Varane made clear that the team must be united and press together in order to achieve success.
Varane had been linked with a move away from Los Blancos at the beginning of the summer, yet after publicly stating his desire to continue with Zidane‘s charges, and at 26 years old, he is ready to start his ninth season in the Spanish capital.
“We have to be united and we have to press together, defend together and creating danger for the opponent together as well,” Varane explained to Real Madrid TV.
“We’re very happy with our work so far, we’re working very well on our physicality and have been gaining confidence with the ball.
“Little by little, we’re upping the tempo [of the training sessions].”
With no summer tournament to play, Varane is hoping to be in optimum condition by the time the first LaLiga Santander match arrives.
“From an individual perspective, I want to be at my best level,” Varane added. “I’m in good condition and I feel rested.
“I’m working well to reach my best.”
